VR21 Completed

Completed VR21 -- an Olympic distance event.  I was able to put down my fastest 10K (& 5K in the same run), so happy about that.  The next Ironman VR event is called "Kona Speed Block"

This was a recovery week.  I adjusted my bike -- seat higher and moved back.  With it more comfortable (& friendlier to my knees), I rode longer than my usual recovery distances.

Vincentown Super Sprint / VR18 : Completed

My first real triathlon -- a super sprint.

I placed 90/182.  9/12 in my division and 65/107 in my sex.

My splits were interesting (at least to me).  Swim:  5:32 (103/182); T1: 2:29 (95/182); Bike: 19:43 (93/182); T2: 1:23 (116/182); Run: 11:12 (55/182).

Happy with the swim (since it was my first real swim of the year).  Thought I'd do better on the bike.  Surprised by the run.  Improvement to be made on the transitions.



I also completed VR18 the same weekend.  I'm okay with my results.  The long-run was tough since I ran it after the bike the day after my super sprint.

This week included a 5150 distance virtual race (VR17).  I'm happy with my results.  The two days after the long run were a bit painful.  The recovery day is very welcome.

Ironman VR17 - Completed

This was my best showing for a 5150 distance VR event.  Three events and three personal bests.

I shaved off over 14 minutes from my previous best (VR15).  Over an hour better than my first attempt VR6.  (Although, to be fair, for the long run I had stomach pain.)

This weekend is a sprint distance, and I'm also signed up for a 'super sprint'.  Hopefully, I can do both.
